Short Bio

I am a Ph.D candidate in the Agricultural, Food and Resource Economics Department of Michigan State University. I plan to graduate in spring 2022. I am interested in risk, insurance, water management, and food safety. I use advanced applied econometrics approaches to explore these areas of interest.

My job market paper focuses on the effect of basis risk on both extensive and intensive margin participation rates in U.S. federal crop insurance program. I also have a working paper that estimates the effect of biased premium rate setting on both margin participation rates. These two studies use non/semi-parametric approaches, Monte Carlo simulation with Gaussian Copula method and other sample selection methods. Other papers in my portfolio include efforts to estimate the economic costs of irrigation water and its effect on water sustainability in the Great Lakes region.
